Materials & Methods: This randomized, prospective, controlled clinical study was conducted among patients with superficial skin injuries. A total of 360 subjects were recruited and divided into an experimental group (low-level laser therapy) and a control group (standard management). Weekly clinical assessments were performed for four weeks. Wound healing was assessed in terms of the percentage of wound closure, and serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 6, and C-reactive protein were measured before and after the study. Pain was evaluated using the Visual Analogue Scale, while tissue perfusion was assessed using a noninvasive method. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.
Findings: Among 360 patients, baseline characteristics were comparable between the low-level laser therapy and control groups. After 4 weeks, low-level laser therapy significantly reduced Tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 6, and C-reactive protein levels, pain intensity, and improved tissue perfusion, complete wound healing, and patient satisfaction compared with standard care (all p<0.001). C-reactive protein showed the greatest reduction (approximately 60%) and the strongest inverse correlation with wound closure (r=−0.71, p<0.001), followed by tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin 6.
Conclusion: Low-level laser therapy enhances wound healing, reduces inflammation and pain, improves tissue perfusion, and promotes better quality of life compared with traditional wound care.
